Mumford & Wood has won the Conservation and Renovation category of the Homebuilding & Renovating Product Excellence Awards for the second year running.

The award was in recognition of a mixed use, multi-storey property in London for which Mumford & Wood designed and manufactured bespoke windows and doors.

The brief was for the designs to match the external detailing of the building’s existing frame sections. In addition, meeting rails on the replacement double glazed windows were required to stay in the same position in order to line up with stone features and brick work in the retained facades.

“Our Conservation box frame sliding sashes, casements, fanlights and doorsets all had to be recreated to faithfully replicate the original frames, which involved a great deal of intricate design input and adaptation of our standard products,” said Chris Wood, sales and marketing manager.
