Retailer Iliad Africa has bought building materials supplier D&A Timbers to take advantage of the coastal property market boom.
The South African company said the acquisition, which needs approval by competition authorities, will grow its market share in the region stretching from KwaZulu-Natal to the Western Cape.
D&A timbers is considered one of the largest truss manufacturers in KawZulu-Natal and recently commissioned a new plant.
Iliad Africa owns DIY store Ferreira’s and Just Tiles.
