Adminstrators restructuring Geddes Windows Systems, the Caithness joinery firm that collapsed in March with the loss of 18 jobs, said a sale is imminent.
The company specialises in windows to withstand extreme weather conditions and sells to private developers and local authorities. Turnover last year was £2.4m.
The manufacturing plant in Halkirk was completing work in progress while negotiations continued with a potential buyer, but no new orders have been taken.
“Like many businesses in this sector the company has been impacted by the downturn in the construction trade,” j said oint administrator Brian Milne, of Deloitte.
“Since entering administration, the company has had to effectively make all staff redundant, however, the sale of the business as a going concern is at an advanced stage and we are hoping to have agreed a deal to sell by the end of the week [April 29].”
