European oak specialist Timberpride reported its most successful month in March, with sales 4% higher than its previous best month.

The Tetbury-based company said the result highlighted the “defiance” of the high quality flooring sector in the face of an unstable economic climate.

Managing director Alexander Golesworthy reported a growing trend of customers trading up to higher value floors, which he said was in part due to a decline in the quality of international imports.

The company is offering bespoke flooring profiles and joinery lengths up to 6.2m.

Its machine shop features a Raimann Flexirip, Weinig Unimat five-head CNC moulder, a horizontal bandsaw and a Granada vacuum lifted gantry crane.

Timberpride was established in 1995 by Mr Golesworthy and his wife Victoria with help from a Prince’s Trust loan.
