The manufacturing assets of conservatory company Amdega, which went into administration at the end of April are to be disposed of in a two-day online public auction on July 6 & 7. A viewing day will be held on June 30.

The administrators KPMG have appointed auction specialist Sanderson Weatherall to conduct the sale, which is expected to generate Europe-wide interest, particularly given the high specification of the machinery involved.

This will comprise modern CNC and conventional woodworking machines including: a Weinig Unicontrol 10 CNC window machining centre (bought in 2003); a Maka PE 70 5-axis CNC machining centre (2008); an SCM Record 132 CNC router (2004); a Weinig Powermat 3000 auto 6-head planer moulder (2001); a Weinig Unimat 23 planing and moulding line (2003); and various CNC optimising saws.

“Owing to the specialist nature of these manufacturing items we anticipate there will be a high level of interest and we expect some competitive bidding,” said Mark Weston of Sanderson Weatherall.

Amdega had a turnover of nearly £30m, but at the time of going into administration owed £3.3m to suppliers and sub-contractors.
