The mill, which will employ 150 people, has a capacity of 120,000-140,000m3 of timber aimed at the structural, building, furniture and packaging industries.

It represents part of PG Bison’s strategy to brand all parent company Steinhoff International’s forests and sawmills under the PG Bison brand.

PG Bison is aiming for vertical integration in its structure, from forests right through to wood products.

The company bought mill technology from Jokkmokk in Sweden and Finnish forest products giant UPM.
