The revised Malaysian forest management standard is open for national public consultation.

The final draft for the “Malaysian Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification” is the outcome of deliberations of a multi-stakeholder standards review committee and incorporates comments from two previous public comment periods and regional stakeholder consultations.

The revision is in line with international practices as implemented by PEFC, which specifies that national certification standards must be revised at least every five years.

National stakeholders are invited to provide further input during a final 60-day public comment period from until July 12.
