Chiltern Dynamics, part of the BM TRADA Group, has made a substantial investment in a purpose-built acoustic testing laboratory, equipped with the latest, top-of-the-range sound measurement technology, to test construction products to BS EN ISO 10140.

It now offers UKAS-accredited acoustic testing for construction products seeking to demonstrate sound insulation performance up to 65dB, including doorsets (timber, composite, steel and PVCu); windows (timber, composite, steel and PVCu); glazing systems; door seals; and penetration and linear joint seals.

Operations manager Tom Gregory said the new laboratory completed the comprehensive suite of testing and related services available from Chiltern Dynamics and Chiltern International Fire – all at the same location.

“In addition to sound insulation testing, we offer fire resistance, security, weather tightness, thermal performance, reaction to fire and durability testing. Clients may now take a fully co-ordinated approach to testing which will be easier, faster and more cost-efficient for them,” he said.
