Stewart Milne Group has announced the appointment of Alex Goodfellow to its main board.

Previously managing director of Stewart Milne Homes Central Scotland, Mr Goodfellow will have overall responsibility for Stewart Milne Timber Systems and will take the role of group managing director – Timber Systems UK.

He has over 25 years’ experience in the sector, starting as an architectural technician with Walker Homes and then as chief architect at Beazer Homes before moving to the Stewart Milne Group in 1991.

Having spent two years as technical director of Stewart Milne Timber Systems, he was appointed managing director in 2003. During his tenure, he led the Scottish timber frame industry into large panel safe crane erection which is now the industry norm.

In 2006 he was appointed managing director of Stewart Milne Homes Central Scotland where he has led the business to growth and success. His appointment demonstrates the focus the Group places on succession planning and development of its people.
