International Timber has supplied Accoya posts for ground floor curtain-walling in the extension of a primary school in Edmonton, north London.
Posts measuring 90mm thick by 375mm deep were fitted around the perimeter of the St John and St James’ Church of England Primary School building to form floor to ceiling mullions and providing an alternative to tropical hardwoods.
The new building includes a nursery, classrooms and a hall, all grouped around a large open atrium. It will enable an additional 190 pupils to attend the school, as well as an additional 56 nursery places.
The Sikkens coating used meant the timber mullions offered a practical and attractive alternative to PVCu mullions.
