Local authorities, timber suppliers and contractors are being targeted in the latest workshops to be held by the Central Point of Expertise on Timber Procurement (CPET).
The workshops, which cover how to ensure implementation and compliance of a sustainable timber procurement policy, will start in Andover on October 25 and cover the country, ending in Northern Ireland in late November/early December.
It will provide expertise in responsible purchasing, timber procurement policy implementation, model specification and contract clauses and the types of evidence for timber legality and sustainability.
Attendees will work through several case studies to examine the types of evidence available.
CPET is working with the WWF to encourage local authorities to implement timber procurement policies.
Other workshops will be held in Oldham on November 3, Mid-Sussex on November 10, Cardiff on November 15 and Llandudno on November 16.
