The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) and timber industry campaign Wood for Good have appointed a joint head of communications and external affairs.
Journalist and public relations professional David Hopkins, whose background includes the renewable energy sector, will be based at the TTF’s Building Centre offices in London. The TTF has also ended its contract with PR agency Nexus.
“Sharing this role between the TTF and Wood for Good works because there is an enormous amount of overlap and we believe there will be great synergy arising from the appointment,” said TTF chief executive John White.
“We felt there was a need for somebody to be full time on the communications, media and PR front for the TTF and Wood for Good.”
The TTF has had a head of communications before but the position was made redundant about six years ago for financial reasons.
