Lesprom.ru, the Russian timber information and trade e-market system, has seen the volume of trade on its site rise to US$306.1m since its launch in 2002.
The Moscow-based company said 1,435 buy lots and 1,913 sale lots were posted in 2003. Sawn timber topped the list with 1,542 sale offers worth US$94.9m and 977 buy offers worth US$110.2m.
The round timber and sawlog section saw 286 sale offers worth US$25.1m and 427 buy offers worth US$63.8m while plywood and veneers offers reached US$12.1m.
