The first homes produced at the Accord Group’s new timber frame factory are now being erected in Walsall.
Panels for eight timber homes were delivered to the site on January 6 – the first batch of more than 100 homes being produced by Accord for the £10m development.
Panels are placed into position using cranes and assembled into three bedroom homes, with the first properties set to be completed by late spring.
The homes are being manufactured under the name LoCaL Homes at Accord’s factory in Beechdale, which opened two months ago.
The Accord Group, comprising seven housing organisations, is the first housing association in the country to open its own timber frame factory. Around 200 homes will be produced every year.
