Timber related jobs will be created in a Highlands community following the purchase of a 117-acre wood.
The Forres Community Woodlands Trust, Moray, bought the Sanquhar Scots pine woods for £147,000, aided by a £53,000 grant from Highlands and Islands Enterprise‘s community land unit and £30,000 from Scottish Natural Heritage.
The trust, which bought two other woodlands in 2000, plans to develop Sanquhar as an environmental asset, as well as a recreational and educational resource.
