The ForCES project, which runs until 2015, involves FSC and its partner organisations researching, analysing and field testing ways to evaluate and reward the provision of ecosystem services such as carbon storage/sequestration, biodiversity conservation and watershed protection.
Pilot studies are being carried out in Chile, Indonesia, Nepal and Vietnam, at 10 sites covering 900,000ha of forests.
