A new Best Practice Guide to Timber Frame, developed in association with the Zero Carbon Hub and the UK Timber Frame Association, was unveiled by Saint-Gobain at Ecobuild.

The new guide includes easy-to-understand drawings highlighting best practice such as insulation and drylining interfaces with the structure in order to maximise building energy efficiency and performance.

The company also used Ecobuild as a platform to launch its new Zero Carbon Homes Fabric Solution at the Fabric First stand, which included input from group companies – Pasquill, British Gypsum and Isover insulation.

Billed as one of Ecobuild’s must-see attractions, the Fabric First area hosted a series of live demonstrations using existing construction materials – including timber frame walls and roof systems – highlighting some of the technical challenges that must be overcome in order to meet current and future legislative requirements.
