Enderby-based Westframe, part of Westleigh Developments Ltd, supplied 140 cassettes for the £5m Touchstone Court development in Coventry.
The 7.5×2.5m panels were manufactured for a five-storey apartment block at the Whitley village development, where Westleigh’s Partnership Homes division is building 44 new homes for Midland Heart.
"Whilst we regularly manufacture timber panels used in new affordable housing across the region by Westleigh, the project at Whitley village is the first time we have supplied bespoke cassette floors," said Dave Thacker, general manager at Westframe.
"The traditional flooring process would have seen several different time consuming stages on site, including the installation of floor joists, structural components, decking and insulation.
"Our tailored service differs in that this entire process is carried out at our Enderby factory, with the customised wooden panels then delivered straight to site and lifted into place."
The development was completed in 12 weeks instead of the projected 16 weeks.
Westframe will follow up the job with another cassette contract for a new development of affordable homes being built by Westleigh in Lincoln.
