Meyer, which had been using the same software for 13 years, chose Progressive Soutions’ bisTrack after deciding a complete overhaul of software was needed and because of recommendations from the trade. It did not approach any other providers

"We were looking for benefits in all areas of functionality, but particularly in stock planning, account management and most critically, sales and margin management," said group trading director Richard Lazenby.

"We also particularly like the flexibility offered by bisTrack and how we could tailor it to suit our specific requirements."

Abut 130 bisTrack users at Meyer will use the 3.2 latest version of the software which includes Web Track, an online trading solution which features dashboards for customers to see information about their trading activity, as well as the ability to order by section, such as second fix work for a housebuilder. BisTrack smartphone apps for iPhone and Android users are also available to replicate all Web Track portal information.

Meyer’s sister company Panelco will also convert to bisTrack later this year.

Meyer operates from nine sites, including its principal import facility at Tilbury Docks and its panel products stock hub at Stoke-on-Trent.
