The tour was aiming to reach builders on their own ground and has been visiting builders merchants to talk about issues facing tradesmen in today’s market, said Wood Panel Industries Federation director-general Alastair Kerr.

"Our economy remains incredibly fragile at a time when green building initiatives are becoming a must in all areas of construction. We could treat builders to breakfast and chat to them about the general environmental benefits of OSB as well as discover what is really happening out there."

The tour was organised by the JOBS Done Campaign, supported by the WPIF, panel manufacturers Norbord and SmartPly, and resin supplier Huntsman.

Another tour is planned for later in the summer.
