The exhibit will be a demonstration of the scale and flexibility of what can be achieved in timber and has been chosen by the House Builders Federation to host its buyers’ forum and networking events.
The house will also be a meeting place for journalists, VIPs and more than 20 seminars during the two-day Timber Expo at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on September 25-26.
Frame Wise’s 60m2 house will showcase the Wise Wall timber panel system which can achieve a U-value of 0.11W/m2K. It will also feature glulam framework on the ground floor, combined with cross-laminated timber to demonstrate how different types of timber structure can work together.
Boise Cascade is supplying the I-joist floor system, while one of the walls has been designed "inside out" so visitors passing outside can get a clear view of the structure.
A large screen will show how the structure was built in the run-up to the show, with Regal Carpentry erecting the system on site.
