The company, which also has department store and food retailing divisions, is developing a new building supplies branch on a greenfield industrial site in Aylsham.
The expansion represents a £750,000 investment. The company already has branches in Holt, Stalham and North Walsham, and is a general merchant with heavyside materials and timber, including sheet materials.
“We identified a gap in the supply of building materials in north Norfolk and were looking to expand our successful builders’ merchant division,” said managing director Michael Baker.
“When better than in a recession Builders are looking for work so the construction costs are good and land sales are quiet so land values are competitive. Furthermore we will have the branch open and established come the upturn.”
